    Ran in to this guy "again" in the lucky dog drive-thru. It is a GXP. The "predecessor" to our G8s. Guy was interested in our G8s and knew alot of tech terms and he does his own tuning also. He used to have a highly modded supercharged car "also" a Pontiac and he got in a wreck that ended up trashing the car. He wanted to know if he could join our "club". I said I would put in a good word for him since he is a serious Pontiac owner and fanatic.

    I'm confused by your comment about it being a GXP and it being a "predecessor" to the G8.

    Pontiac only slapped "GXP" on the following models;
    - Solstice
    - Grand Prix
    - Bonneville
    - Torrent
    - G8

    So if it was a "predecessor" it was either likely a Grand Prix GXP or Bonneville GXP. You saying it was large, leads to be more inclined that it was a Bonneville. Both of these turn the wrong axle though.

    The Grand Prix GXP, along with the Impala SS (which I have), have the Gen 4 LS4 V8. Being a "LS" motor, it can have a lot done to it, but then the weak link is the 4T65E trans the GM saddles it with.

    If it was the Bonneville GXP, it is the dreaded Northstar V8. I had a 2004 Bonneville GXP. There is little to nothing other than your own bolt on mods. There is simply no aftermarket support for it. However, it comes with the much stronger 4T80E trans. It can sound nice with a simple set of mufflers. I had Magnaflow on mine. But there is little to no "tuning" that can be done with this PCM.
